UK pulls Musharraf’s security detail

The United Kingdom has revoked General Musharraf’s security detail as well as all other VIP protocol arrangements, according to The News. The trigger for this change of status is the recently-released United Nations report on Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. The report found that the government of General Musharraf was negligent in responding to the various death threats against Bhutto, and did not provide adequate security measures for her safety. In other words, Benazir Bhutto’s assassination was preventable; Musharraf could have prevented it.
